Merrow - Celtic Mermaid

In Irish folklore, the Merrow is a mystical sea-being who travels between the human world and the depths of the ocean. The Merrow can pass beneath the waves — but if the cap is lost, they are bound to remain upon the land.

Legends tell of Merrow women who lived among fishermen and coastal families until they recovered their enchanted cap and returned forever to the sea.
